Limit Controllers

Limit controllers provide protection for run away systems and will shut down the control loop when a preset temperature or other variable is reached. The relay usually has a latching feature so that a manual reset is required after the error has been resolved. Limit loops are separate from the control loop and have a unique sensor and shutdown contractor. The Hi or Low limit protects the products being made or personnel from dangerous situations.
